When I first bought the paddle, I thought about taping the grip but played with it and turned out it was perfect. Love it as is. I’m not a big spin player but the carbon face has excellent ball control for me. This is a paddle that you must start out playing with and put it down for all of your six games. Give it the full day. This paddle has plenty of power and seems to be very durable. I have had no construction issues at all.

I have a bag with plenty of paddles all have their own tendencies I rarely use them though. When I bought this paddle I was looking for a paddle with control. It’s easy to find a paddle that the ball rebounds or responds off of dramatically. Take playing against bangers it’s a problem to control shots fired at you with a paddle that’s natural tendencie is to explode off the face due to its construction. Finding a paddle that can absorb the shot and yet respond to direction is key. I have plenty of power behind me I don’t need the paddle to do that part of the game and can’t imagine to many people who would. it’s not only a paddle for people who have been playing for years it would be a great first time paddle for beginners to teach(in my opinion) the most important part of pickleball placing the ball where there not and positioning shots.
